Drawing Foundations for Painting: This four week class is an intentional step-back for artists of every level. Erin McGee Ferrell believes that a strong foundation of drawing leads to a strong foundation for painting. The class will work on wooden boards for all drawings so that paintings can be created on top in a later class or on student’s own time. We will work from a complex still life and create with pencil, pen, ink , and gouache. The class will discuss drawing techniques from the Masters as well as contemporary artists. Students need not bring an easel unless one prefers to stand. A small material list will be provided after registration which includes a limit palette of gouache colors.
