Maine Artist at Telluride Plein Air 2015 . Colorado

Erin McGee Ferrell has been recently selected to participate in the 2015 Telluride, Colorado Plein Air Painting Competition. Though currently based in Maine, EMFerrell has her roots in the West. The artist’s mother, grandparents and extended family live in Arizona, Denver, and Washington State. Her work will debut in Denver February 2015 at Core Art Space.

The Telluride Plein Air Celebration is a juried exhibition consisting of a panel of 4-5 jurors. The panel will review all submitted applications and select between 20 and 25 artists for a total of 25-30 artists to participate in the 2015 event.

All artwork must be completed in the Telluride area between June 29 and July 5, 2015. Canvases will be stamped with an approved insignia as they arrive. Only artwork with this stamp will be permitted in the Exhibition & Sale.

This event is a fundraiser for the Sheridan Arts Foundation and the Historic Sheridan Opera House, a 501(c)(3) non-profit. The sale takes place outside the Sheridan Opera House and in Elks Park for three days over the Fourth of July weekend.

Philadelphia/ Maine Urban Architectural Artist. Erin McGee Ferrell’s large scale, hand- stretched, oil paintings capture urban architectural views. Painted on location, Erin McGee Ferrell combines the classical traditions of oil painting and media/blog/video documentation. The artist collaborates with photographers in the LIVE Public painting experience.

Erin McGee Ferrell’s recent work has focused on the merging of urban and coastal architectural structures in Philadelphia and Maine. She studied oil painting at Mount Holyoke College, Pennsylvania Academy of Art, University of the Arts Philadelphia, and attended classes in Italy and in Nigeria. Collectors include TD Ameritrade, AtlantiCare New Jersey, and Jones Lang LaSalle Americas, INC. Philadelphia.
