Poultry. 2014

Oil on hand stretched canvas

12 x 28 x 2 inches

Created en Plein Air at the Cumberland County Fair, Maine.

Poultry was a fabulous painting to create. Literally I stood in the Poultry House at the County Fair. At the end of the day, I had bird feathers in my nose, stuck in my paint, and sawdust embedded into my shoe soles.”

Erin McGee Ferrell
Artist Bio 2015
Born and raised in Kentucky, my core is bluegrass and colored quilts. I lived across America and have roots in the West. Educated in Massachusetts, I am a classically trained artist with a liberal arts foundation. Years of painting in Philadelphia awakened my love for architectural subjects. Based in Maine, I travel the country depicting architecture merging with land on large canvas. My style has been described as Figurative expressionism. I work from what I see with a strong academic foundation of drawing.
My work has been represented by galleries for the past twenty five years. As a mid-career artist collectors have begun to include large corporations such as TD Ameritrade, AtlantiCare Health Systems and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines.
